and it goes like this
An old man named Sai Weng, lived right on the borderline
The horses he raised were wild and free, having a real good time
One day his favorite horse ran off, folks said man what a loss you have
But he sat on the porch, drinking his tea, and took his sweet old time
He said maybe so, maybe not
What looks like a loss might just be a blessin’ that you’ ve got
That lost horse came walking back before the sun went down
He brought back a wild stallion from another town
The neighbor stood in shock and said,"I'll be damned, you called it right"
But Sai Weng shook his head and stayed real quiet that night
He said maybe so, maybe not
What looks like a blessin’ might just be what you have lost
Sai Weng had a son, a brave and fearless man
He saddled up that stallion, got thrown away like a can
The neighbors said," dang ole man, I tell you what, the boy ain’ t gonna ride the same again"
But Sai Weng stroked his beard, seems like just another part of his plan
He said maybe so, maybe not
What looks like a loss might just be a blessin’ that you've got
The drums of war rolled cross the plain, took every able man
Soldiers rode off to fight, never came back to hold a hand
But SaiWeng's boy stayed home sweet home, his leg too broke to get drafted in line
While the neighbors mourned the dead, his was doing just fine
He said maybe so, maybe not
